Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Langevin Street and Polson Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – Since yesterday, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) has responded to two structure fires.

Langevin Street

At 8:23 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, WFPS responded to a fire in an apartment building in the 400 block of Langevin Street.

All occupants safely self-evacuated. Paramedics transported three people to hospital in unstable condition.

Firefighters attacked the fire, declaring it under control at 9:16 p.m.

The City of Winnipeg’s Animal Services Agency responded to the scene to provide support for pets affected in the incident.

The City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services team responded to the scene to provide temporary support for displaced residents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Polson Avenue

At 5:52 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a structure fire in a mixed residential and commercial building in the 200 block of Polson Avenue.

At the scene, crews saw smoke coming from the building. Firefighters attacked the fire, declaring it under control at 6:25 a.m.

All occupants safely self-evacuated before crews arrived. No injuries were reported.

The City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services team responded to the scene to provide temporary support for residents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
