Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Arthur Wright Crescent

Released: February 17, 2025 at 7:45 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – At 4:55 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a single-family bungalow in the 0 to 100 block of Arthur Wright Crescent.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found smoke coming from the house. Firefighters made entry and launched an interior fire attack. Freezing temperatures created challenging conditions for firefighters, with the area around the scene being ice-covered and slippery. Crews were rotated in and out of operations as required to provide them with breaks from the cold. The fire was declared under control at 6:48 p.m.

There were no people in the house at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. Firefighters completed a search of the house and one dog was located deceased.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The house sustained significant smoke, fire and water damage. Damage estimates are not available.
