Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Driftwater Trail

Released: January 18, 2025 at 5:55 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – At 1:27 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a house on Driftwater Trail.

At the scene, firefighters saw smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire, declaring it under control at 2:04 p.m.

All occupants safely self-evacuated before crews arrived. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Residents should use caution in the area, as water used to fight the fire froze and created slippery conditions. City of Winnipeg crews will be monitoring conditions and applying sand and de-icing agents to roadways and sidewalks as required to improve traction.
