Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Kennedy Street and Flora Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – Last night, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two fires last night.

Kennedy Street

At 8:15 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, the WFPS to responded to reports of a fire in a high-rise building in the 400 block of Kennedy Street. A second alarm was called due to the high life hazards associated with a high-rise building.

At the scene, firefighters attacked a fire, declaring it under control at 8:48 p.m. Paramedics assessed two patients and no transport to hospital was required.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Flora Avenue

At 11:43 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 500 block of Flora Avenue.

Firefighters attacked the fire, declaring it under control at 1:07 a.m. Throughout the incident, fire crews used aerial ladders to attack the fire.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The home has sustained significant damage from flames, smoke, and water.
