Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Logan Avenue and Redwood Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two structure fires earlier today.

Logan Avenue fire

At 12:05 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2024, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, single-storey commercial building in the 200 block of Logan Avenue. 

When crews arrived at the scene, they found heavy smoke coming from the structure. They entered and launched an interior fire attack. The fire was declared under control at 1:35 p.m.  

Crews completed a search of the structure, and no occupants were found. There were no injuries reported. 

The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available. 

Redwood Avenue fire

At 7:28 a.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2024, WFPS crews responded to reports of a garage fire in the 500 block of Redwood Avenue.

Upon arrival on scene, crews found a garage well-involved with smoke and fire, with flames spreading to an adjacent house. An offensive fire attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 7:46 a.m.

All occupants in the house safely self-evacuated. No injuries were reported.


The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
