Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Redwood Avenue

Released: November 6, 2024 at 12 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – At 11:09 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a single storey home in the 1000 block of Redwood Avenue.

Firefighters saw flames and smoke coming from the house when they arrived. They attacked the fire from the outside because it was unsafe to enter. Other firefighters protected neighbouring homes on each side of the fire. Occupants in the neighbouring homes were temporarily evacuated as a precaution. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 11:49 p.m.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The house sustained significant damage from fire, smoke, and water and is considered a total loss.
