Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Barrington Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey duplex on Barrington Avenue.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found smoke coming from the structure. Firefighters entered and fought the fire from the interior. The fire was declared under control at 12:39 a.m.

Occupants of the building self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. One individual was assessed by on-scene paramedics and transported to hospital in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
