Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Redwood Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to reports of fire at a one-and-a-half-storey converted multi-family residential dwelling in the 500 block of Redwood Avenue.

When crews arrived at the scene, smoke was coming from the structure. Firefighters launched an offensive fire attack and quickly put it out. The fire was declared under control at 12:16 a.m.

Residents self-evacuated before crews arrived at the scene. No injuries were reported.

The structure suffered smoke, water and fire damage. Damage estimates are not available.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
