Winnipeg, MB –The Winnipeg Public Library is pleased to announce that Susie Moloney is its new Writer-in-Residence for 2023-2024, and will be available for consultations beginning October 2, 2023.
Moloney has three decades of experience in writing and publishing and is an award-winning author of several novels, including the world bestselling A Dry Spell. In 2015, she branched out into film and television. Her first full-length feature film (Bright Hill Road) premiered in theatres in 2020, and a feature length production of ROMI just premiered on August 7 at the prestigious Fantasia Festival in Montreal.
Moloney continues to write narrative fiction and provide mentorship and guidance to writers in all genres. She served as the 2020 Writer-in-Residence at the Edmonton Public Library.
“Everyone's voice has value and deserves to be heard,” said Moloney. “I have been lucky enough to have champions, people who read my work, helped me to refine it, and became cheerleaders as I made my way. I would like to give that to others.”
The Writer-in-Residence provides free consultation by email, phone, and online with emerging and established Manitoba writers of all genres. Manuscripts for review can be submitted by email or by mail. Visit winnipeg.ca/writerinres for complete submission guidelines.
