Changes to Executive Policy Committee

Released: July 28, 2023 at 11:36 a.m.

Mayor Scott Gillingham issued the following statement today about changes to Executive Policy Committee:

“Earlier today, Councillor John Orlikow informed his colleagues he will be taking a personal leave from City Council to address health issues, and he will be stepping down from Executive Policy Committee (EPC). I want to thank Councillor Orlikow for his leadership on EPC over the past year, and wish him a quick and full recovery. We all look forward to welcoming him back to the Council chamber.

“In the meantime, my staff will be in regular contact with Councillor Orlikow’s office to ensure residents of River Heights – Fort Garry continue to receive the assistance and services they require.

“Councillor Evan Duncan will join EPC, taking on the Chair of Community Services. Councillor Duncan was elected in October 2022, and prior to that had several years of experience in the youth justice field which I think will serve him well in this new role.”
