Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Burrows Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 2:44 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey house in the 300 block of Burrows Avenue.

When crews arrived to the scene, they found smoke coming from the structure. They entered and fought the fire from inside the house. The fire was declared under control at 3:26 p.m.

Occupants of the house safely self-evacuated with their cat before crews arrived. No injuries were reported. The City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services team responded to assist the displaced residents in finding temporary accommodations.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
