Residents invited to provide input for the South Winnipeg Recreation Campus

Released: November 15, 2022 at 1:47 p.m.

The City of Winnipeg is building a new regional recreation campus in Waverley West, and is seeking input from residents on the programs and recreation services they would like to see at the new South Winnipeg Recreation Campus (SWRC).

The SWRC is a new recreation facility that will be built on Bison Drive, west of Frontier Trail and east of Kenaston Boulevard. The project will be built in multiple phases, with design work for Phase 1 starting now and construction expected in 2024-2025. Phase 1 includes gymnasiums, multipurpose rooms, an indoor walking track, a fitness area, a daycare, and an outdoor spray pad.

Residents can provide their input through an online survey, available until December 12, 2022, or by registering to attend one of two workshops planned for November 30 and December 1.

The input gathered as part of this phase of public engagement will help tailor the campus to meet the community’s needs.
