Crews prepared to deal with forecasted snowfall

Released: January 17, 2022 at 10:07 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB – City crews are ready to serve and prepared to respond to the forecasted snowfall.

Crews are monitoring road conditions and stand ready to apply sand and salt to improve traction on roadways throughout the city as required. Accumulations of snow will be monitored and further decisions will be made as the weather system passes through the city. Motorists are reminded to drive to conditions and to use extreme caution when driving near heavy equipment.

Residents are reminded that the Annual Snow Route Parking Ban is in effect. Do not park your vehicle on streets designated as snow routes between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. Vehicles parked in violation may receive a ticket and may be towed to the towing company’s compound.

Residents are encouraged to check streets for snow route signs, or if unsure, use our online address lookup tool, the Know Your Zone mobile app, our interactive snow route map, or by contacting 311.
