Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg is officially opening a new picnic shelter at Kirkbridge Park, located at 119 Kirkbridge Dr. The new shelter is part of a larger improvement project at the park which includes new and upgraded pathways, benches and trees.
“This investment in Kirkbridge Park will ensure families in the area can continue to gather and enjoy free recreational facilities in their community for many years,” said Councillor Mike Pagtakhan, Chair of the Standing Policy Committee on Protection, Community Services and Parks. “I encourage families to visit the park this summer and enjoy its new features.”
“Community parks play an important role in connecting people to their neighbours and communities,” said Councillor Janice Lukes, St. Norbert Ward. “Kirkbridge Park has a long and rich history in the Richmond West neighbourhood I’m very pleased to have worked with the Richmond West Neighbourhood Association and area residents to identify priority upgrades. Residents in Richmond West are very active and these improvements are being enjoyed by all.”
Members of the public are invited to a community event celebrating the opening of the new picnic shelter at Kirkbridge Park, 119 Kirkbridge Dr. at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018.
The total cost of the improvements at Kirkbridge Park is $345,000.
