Sun's out, fun's out: City spray pads, outdoor pools and wading pools prepare to open

Winnipeg, MB - Find fun in the sun this summer at Winnipeg’s spray pads, outdoor pools and wading pools.

Spray Pads
The City’s unsupervised spray pads are a great way to spend a hot summer day.

Most spray pads will open for the season on Saturday, May 30 and will operate daily from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. For locations and more information on spray pads, please visit City of Winnipeg - Spray Pads or contact 311, available by phone at 311, or by email at .

Spray pads will operate until Monday, September 7 at the following locations:

Fort Rouge Park
Lindenwoods Community Centre
Provencher Park
River East (Peguis Trail Health & Fitness Centre)
River Heights Community Centre
Shaughnessy Park
St. Norbert Community Centre
St. James Assiniboia Centennial Pool
Sturgeon Heights Community Centre
Vimy Ridge Memorial Park
West Kildonan Memorial Community Centre (opens June 27)
Westdale Community Centre (opens June 30)

Please note that the Transcona Centennial Spray Pad will be closed this season.

Outdoor Pools
Kildonan Park Outdoor Pool opens Monday, June 15 for the Summer 2015 season. All other City of Winnipeg outdoor pools are scheduled to open Friday, June 26. All outdoor pools operate seven days a week, weather permitting. Contact 311 by phone at 311 or by email at , or visit City of Winnipeg - Outdoor Pools for current pool hours and amenities. Please note that Transcona Centennial Outdoor Pool and St. Vital Outdoor Pool are currently closed for renovations.

As part of a two-year pilot project, entry to non-heated outdoor pools will be free all summer long. Free admission is available at the following outdoor pools (public admission entry requirements and capacity restrictions apply):

Wading Pools
17 of the City’s wading pools will open on Wednesday, July 1 for the season - just in time to celebrate Canada Day. The remaining locations will open Thursday, July 2, according to their operating schedules. For operating schedules and more information on wading pools, please visit City of Winnipeg - Wading Pools or contact 311, available by phone at 311, or by email at . Operating hours vary by wading pool; however, most are open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Weather permitting, the following 17 wading pools will be open on Wednesday, July 1:
