I support free trade, but you can’t practice free trade when the leader of your biggest trading partner is trying to choke your economy into submission.
While the City of Winnipeg’s total spending on infrastructure, salaries and services represents just 4% of our local economy, the City can and will do more to support federal and provincial efforts to fight this bullying.
Over the last eighteen months, Winnipeg businesses have created thousands of new jobs and found new markets despite the President’s behaviour. Canadians must pull together to help them — and help ourselves — continue to prosper in the face of this entirely manufactured storm.”
