Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Boyd Avenue and Yale Avenue West

Winnipeg, MB – Since yesterday, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) has responded to two structure fires.  

Boyd Avenue fire 

At 8:11 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 600 block of Boyd Avenue.  

At the scene, crews found smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire and declared it under control at 8:46 p.m. 

All occupants safely self-evacuated before crews arrived. No injuries were reported. 

The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available. 

Yale Avenue West fire 

At 7:28 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 200 block of Yale Avenue West.  

At the scene, firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire using an offensive strategy.

Firefighters rescued one person from inside the house.  Everyone else self-evacuated before crews arrived.  

Paramedics assessed four patients and transported them to hospital, one in critical condition and three in stable condition.  

Firefighters declared the fire under control at 8:15 a.m. 

The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
