Released: March 10, 2025 at 9:13 a.m.

Winnipeg, MBWinnipeggers are invited to provide their feedback on the design of the South Winnipeg Recreation Campus (SWRC), a new recreation facility that will be a vibrant community hub in Waverley West.

Located on Bison Drive, the SWRC will be built in multiple phases. The Phase 1 design includes:

  • Three gymnasiums
  • Multipurpose rooms
  • A café
  • A serving kitchen
  • An indoor walking/running track
  • A fitness area
  • A child care centre
  • An outdoor spray pad

Residents can view the design online and provide their feedback through an online survey until April 7, 2025, or attend an open house on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Feedback will help us refine the design before construction begins on this landmark project next year.

Construction of Phase 1 is expected to cost $118 million. Funding for construction is secured and provided by the City of Winnipeg, Government of Manitoba, and Government of Canada.
