Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Herbert Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 3:16 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey, single-family house in the 600 block of Herbert Avenue.

Once on-scene, crews encountered smoke coming from the building. They launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 4:55 a.m.

One occupant self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. No injuries were reported.

The house suffered major structural damage to the attic. No damage estimates are available. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
