Winnipeg, MB – At 9:17 p.m. on December 6, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half-storey house in the 900 block of Alfred Avenue.
When crews arrived on scene, they encountered smoke coming from the residence. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 10:01 p.m.
Occupants were not home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
At 2:24 a.m. on December 7, 2020, WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey apartment block in the 500 block of Ellice Avenue.
Upon arrival on scene, smoke was found in the building and crews launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 2:45 a.m. They then worked to ventilate smoke from the structure.
The building was evacuated as a precaution. No injuries were reported. Once safe, tenants were able to return to their suites.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are currently available.
