Complete closure of Selkirk Avenue from Salter Street to McGregor Street to begin Monday, May 9

Motorists should use alternate routes and allow additional travel time

Winnipeg, MB - Selkirk Avenue between Salter Street and McGregor Street will be completely closed to vehicular traffic starting at 7:00 a.m., Monday, May 9. The closure is required for the first stage of a major street renewal project. The first stage of this project is expected to be completed by July 31, 2016.

Immediately following the completion of stage one, stage two of the project will commence which will require the complete closure of Selkirk Avenue from McGregor Street to Arlington Street. It is anticipated that stage two of the project will be completed by September 30, 2016 at which time Selkirk Avenue will be reopened.

Pedestrian sidewalk access will be maintained throughout the project.

While repairs are underway motorists should allow additional time to get to their destinations, and use alternate routes.
