If you’re heading to the Winnipeg Folk Festival this weekend, ditch your vehicle and Try Transit.
The Folk Fest Express is back for the 51st edition of the internationally renowned festival. Our buses will be taking attendees to and from the festival grounds from Friday, July 9 to Sunday, July 12.
You can ride a Folk Fest Express bus for free. Just show the driver your valid ticket, wristband, or access pass when boarding.
Routes and schedules
Our buses are departing from a new location this year: southbound Memorial Boulevard between St. Mary Avenue and York Avenue. Fare payment is still required for trips to or from the Memorial Terminal.
All buses run non-stop from Memorial Boulevard to Festival Drive in Birds Hill Provincial Park. The trip is approximately 50 minutes.
When riding with us, remember:
- Smoking is NOT allowed on buses.
- Consumption of alcohol or other intoxicants is NOT allowed on buses.
- Bicycles are NOT allowed on buses.
- All passengers must be seated while buses travel on the highway. No standees allowed.

If you want to connect with our last regular downtown route on Friday and Saturday, you must catch the 12:15 a.m. Folk Fest Express back into Winnipeg. Our last buses leave downtown at 1:30 a.m.
On Sunday, you’ll have to catch the 11 p.m. bus from the festival to arrive downtown in time to connect with the last regular route bus at 12:15 a.m.
