Cycling is a popular way to get outside and get around Winnipeg. If you’re in the market for a new ride this spring, consider checking out our online bicycle auction. This popular, annual event can help you find some new wheels at a great price.
There will be approximately 600 bicycles available for auction this year and you can view them online now. Online bidding opens on April 24 and runs until May 1.
“The online auction offers residents the ability to shop for an affordable bicycle without leaving the comfort of home,” said Winston Yee, Manager of Licensing & Bylaw Enforcement.
To help make the auction happen, we've partnered with the Winnipeg Repair Education and Cycling Hub (WRENCH). They have tuned-up approximately 200 of the bikes, getting them ready-to-ride.
You can pay for your new bicycle by MasterCard, Visa, e-transfer, cash, or Interac.
Purchased bicycles will be available for pick up from May 2–9 (Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) at 7130 Roblin Blvd.
Protect your bicycle
Make theft prevention a part of your spring tune-up. Regardless of where you got your bicycle, remember to register it with 529 Garage.
Registration is free and your bicycle will be traceable anywhere in the world that 529 Garage is used.
