Winnipeg, MB – Residents are once again invited to provide input on the Transportation Master Plan 2050 project, which will set the course for transportation planning in the city for the next 30 years.
The second phase of public engagement opens today and will run through mid-December. It builds upon information gathered in Phase 1, which asked Winnipeggers how they get around, where they are going, and what challenges they face when moving around the city.
Winnipeggers are now being asked to help move Winnipeg in the right direction by providing their opinions on both key directions for the future of our transportation network and draft strategies designed to solve the issues identified through Phase 1 engagement and a series of comprehensive technical studies conducted over the last two years.
Residents can get involved by:
- Taking an online survey (open now through December 17)
- Participating in a telephone town hall on Thursday, November 25 at 7 p.m.
- Registering for one of four topic-specific online public workshops:
- The Connected City: Building a transportation network that supports people, communities and growth (Monday, November 29 at 6:30 p.m.)
- The Safe & Sustainable City: Supporting transportation equity (Tuesday, November 30 at 6:30 p.m.)
- The Reliable City: Revitalizing the road and bridge network (Wednesday, December 1 at 6:30 p.m.)
- The Active City: Updating the Pedestrian & Cycling Strategies (Thursday, December 2 at 6:30 p.m.)
What we hear during Phase 2 engagement will support development of recommendations that will appear in the Draft TMP2050 planning document, which will be presented for public confirmation and input prior to being submitted for Council consideration in late Spring 2022.
