Winnipeg, MB – At 8:43 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey apartment building in the 1000 block of Troy Avenue.
When crews arrived on-scene, they encountered fire coming from the building. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 9:17 a.m. The fire was contained to the suite of origin.
Occupants of the impacted suite self-evacuated prior to crew arrival. No injuries were reported.
The City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services was called to assist displaced residents in finding alternative accommodations until their suite is safe for re-occupancy.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
