Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to two fires this morning.
Bannerman Avenue fire
At 6:28 a.m. on April 29, 2021, WFPS responded to a fire in a two-storey commercial and residential mixed-use building in the 200 block of Bannerman Avenue.
When crews arrived on scene the encountered smoke coming from the building.
An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 6:55 a.m.
Crews assisted occupants with evacuation. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
Redwood Avenue fire
At 7:06 a.m. on April 29, 2021, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, one-and-a-half storey house in the 300 block of Redwood Avenue.
Upon arrival on scene, crews found smoke coming from the house and launched an offensive fire attack. The fire was declared under control at 7:29 a.m.
Crews completed a search of the structure and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
