All Winnipeg Transit and Transit Plus service will be free on December 31, starting at 7 p.m.

Ring in the New Year safely with us. We’re once again teaming up with our friends from Manitoba Public Insurance to offer the Free Ride Program. This program has been around since 2011.

As part of the Free Pride Program, all regular and Transit Plus service will be free for Winnipeggers, starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31. Our last buses are scheduled to leave downtown at approximately 1:30 a.m.

In 2025, 13 people have been killed on Manitoba’s roadways due to impaired driving. This year, 2,162 drivers have been found to be driving impaired, putting their lives and the lives of everyone on the road at risk.

Manitoba continues to have among the toughest penalties in Canada for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Driving impaired by either drugs or alcohol comes with severe consequences. This can include an impounded vehicle, suspended license, mandatory ignition lock, large fines, increased premiums, and, in some cases, criminal charges.

Plan your evening out ahead of time by using Navigo. It’s available on online and through the Winnipeg Transit app.
