A new policy for collecting unpaid parking tickets helps us fairly enforce parking bylaws.
Under the policy, we will tow and impound your vehicle if you have two or more outstanding parking tickets and are caught committing another parking offence.
“A small number of vehicle owners account for a large number of outstanding parking tickets,” said Lisa Vermette, Manager of Regulation & Compliance with the Winnipeg Parking Authority. “This policy encourages drivers to follow parking by-laws and pay their fines on time.”
You will not need to pay your full outstanding fine amount to retrieve your vehicle from the impound lot. You will need to pay the towing fee, storage fees, and any applicable administration fees.
There is no limit to how many times your vehicle can be towed and impounded, as long as you still have at least two outstanding parking tickets and are issued another one.
You can pay parking tickets online, by calling 311, in person, or by mail.
