A new policy for collecting unpaid parking tickets will help us fairly enforce parking bylaws.
Under the policy, your vehicle will be towed and impounded if you have three or more outstanding parking tickets and you are caught committing another parking offence.
“A small minority of vehicle owners account for a large number of outstanding parking tickets,” said Dan Locke, Policy Analyst for the Winnipeg Parking Authority. “This new policy will encourage these vehicle owners to follow parking bylaws and pay their fines on time.”
You will not need to pay the full amount of your outstanding parking ticket debt to retrieve your vehicle from the impound lot. You will need to pay the towing fee, storage fees, and any applicable administration fees.
There is no limit to the number of times your vehicle can be towed and impounded, so long as you still have three or more outstanding parking tickets and are issued another one.
You can pay parking tickets online, by calling 311, in person, or by mail.
