Employees encouraged to take internal Pronouns and Gender Inclusive Language course

We are focused on creating an inclusive and welcoming work environment for employees.

This is why we are proud to offer training to all employees on the importance of using gender-inclusive language. We launched Pronouns and Gender Inclusive Language: The Importance of Getting it Right in the fall of 2021.

This online course looks at how misgendering, or using the wrong pronouns, can feel. It also shares best practices to avoid misgendering.

We offer the course through our Employee Development Branch. It takes around 30 minutes to complete and employees can take it at their own pace. Once complete, they receive credit in their formal training summary.

We encourage employees who are comfortable to add their pronouns to their email signatures. They may also share them when they introduce themselves at meetings.

Sharing your pronouns with others can help create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
