Winnipeg, MB – At 9:01 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a vacant house in the 400 block of Agnes Street.
At the scene, crews saw smoke and flames coming from the home. Firefighters attacked the fire from the outside until it was safe to enter the building to continue extinguishing the fire. Crews also protected neighbouring buildings from the fire. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 9:57 p.m.
Two neighbouring homes were temporarily evacuated as a precaution. A Winnipeg Transit bus provided shelter for approximately eight residents who were temporarily displaced. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
