Winnipeg, MB – At 4:19 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in one-and-a-half storey house in the 600 block of Manitoba Avenue.
At the scene, crews found smoke and flames coming from the building. Bystanders indicated there may be occupants trapped in the house. While conducting a search of the house, firefighters also worked to extinguish the fire. No occupants were found and the fire was declared under control at 4:37 p.m.
Two individuals were assessed by on-scene paramedics. Neither required transport to hospital. No other injuries were reported. The City’s Emergency Social Services team assisted displaced residents in finding temporary accommodations.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
