Winnipeg, MB – At 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to the activation of a monitored fire alarm in a two-storey combined-residential and educational facility.
Upon arrival on scene, crews found heavy smoke coming from the building. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 9:26 a.m.
All occupants of the building safely self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. No injuries were reported.
Preliminary observations suggest this was an accidental electrical fire. No damage estimates are available at this time.
