WINNIPEG - August 31, 2006 - Young anglers helped celebrate the success of the Fish Winnipeg Inner City Youth at Risk Fishing Program today, a program which saw more than 600 Winnipeg youth enjoy an exciting day of fishing along Winnipeg's Red and Assiniboine Rivers throughout July and August.

Westbound lanes of Jubilee Overpass closed for curb repairs
WINNIPEG - August 25, 2006 - The westbound lanes of the Jubilee Overpass (which provide access to Pembina Hwy southbound) will be closed for curb repairs from Monday, August 28 to Thursday, August 31, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily

Scheduled closure of Margaret Grant Swimming Pool, August 27 to September 24, 2006

Rerouting of southbound traffic on Kenaston

Arlington Bridge will close for repairs

Zoo's eagles breed in their senior years
WINNIPEG - August 10, 2006 - A pair of Bald Eagles, at least 38 years old, and perhaps in their early 40s, has surprised Zoo staff by producing a healthy chick. A female Golden Eagle at the Zoo also bred recently at the remarkable age of 36 years. These are additional instances of the Zoo's animals achieving longevity and breeding records, likely the result of exceptional genetics and special care offered by the Zookeeping and Veterinary Staff.
