Winnipeg, MB – At 2:25 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to reports of fire at a one-and-a-half storey house in the 400 block of Atlantic Avenue.
When they arrived on scene, crews found smoke coming from the structure. They entered the house and launched an offensive fire attack, using hose lines to put water on the fire. It was declared under control at 2:56 p.m.
Residents evacuated the house before firefighters arrived on scene. One person was assessed by paramedics, but not transported to hospital. No other injuries were reported.
Damage estimates are not available at this time.
Preliminary investigations suggest the fire was accidental.
