Winnipeg, MB – As we mark 150 years as a city, residents are invited to come together, celebrate, and connect at Winnipeg 150 In The Ward, a community event hosted by Evan Duncan, Councillor for Charleswood – Tuxedo – Westwood, on Saturday, June 15 at the Charleswood Dog Park (3890 Haney St.).

The all-day block party starts at 11 a.m., and features activities for all ages, including live music, family entertainment, free flag football, food trucks, a Third + Bird market, and much more. The event wraps up with a spectacular firework display at dark.

“There’s a history of celebration in our community, and this marks a great opportunity to come together and connect with one another. I encourage you to take part in the festivities and get to know your neighbours,” said Councillor Evan Duncan. “This celebration is 150 years in the making. I’m looking forward to marking this important milestone with the residents across our community!”

The day will feature special guests in attendance, including an autograph alley where residents can meet local sports stars.

Winnipeg 150 In The Ward is a wonderful chance to mark this milestone anniversary together," said Mayor Scott Gillingham. "The diversity and vibrancy of Winnipeg's neighbourhoods are one of our greatest strengths, and I know Charleswood – Tuxedo – Westwood excels in community spirit. Come out, have fun, and let's enjoy our amazing city together!”

Winnipeg 150 In The Ward will also feature a lineup of over a dozen live musical acts and entertainers, including Tragically Hip tribute band The Incredibly Hip, and Catie St Germain.

“I’m super excited to step on stage and take part in this great celebration,” said Catie St Germain, Manitoba singer and songwriter – granddaughter of Canadian musician Ray St Germain. “I grew up visiting my grandparents in Westwood, and it’s a special feeling to be able to come back and perform in the community.”
