At 11:56 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024, WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey, mixed-use building in the 600 block of Selkirk Avenue.

When crews arrived to the scene, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. Crews entered the building and fought the fire from the interior. The fire was declared under control at 1:09 a.m.

All occupants of the building safely self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. No injuries were reported.

Upon arrival on scene, crews found the trailer fully involved in fire, with heavy smoke and flames also coming from the building.

C
rews fought the fire from the interior and exterior of the building, using hose lines and a two aerial ladder trucks to apply water to the fire. A semi-truck was used to move other trailers away from the structure. Aerial and thermal imaging views from the WFPS drone were used to help direct water streams and locate hotspots.

The fire was declared under control at 10:38 a.m. Crews were able to confine the fire to the warehouse section of the building.

Crews completed a search of the structure and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.
