Winnipeg, MB – On the morning of September 2, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two structure fires.
Dufferin Avenue
At 7:49 a.m. on September 2, 2023, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey townhouse in the 200 block of Dufferin Avenue.
At the scene, crews saw smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire from the inside, declaring it under control at 8:01 a.m.
All occupants safely self-evacuated before crews arrived. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
MacGregor Street
At 9:02 a.m. on September 2, 2023, WFPS firefighters were returning from another nearby call when they noticed a fire in a vacant building in the 400 block of MacGregor Street. This crew requested more units and responded to the fire.
Firefighters attacked the fire from the inside, declaring the fire under control at 9:22 a.m. Firefighters searched the house and no occupants were located. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
