WINNIPEG, MB - The public is advised that plowing of Main Routes, Bus Routes and Collector Streets will be continuing today and Monday in response to over 20 cm of snow that accumulated Saturday evening and overnight. Salting and sanding of streets is continuing around-the-clock to improve traction on roadways. Plowing of sidewalks on major routes commenced overnight, and will be followed by plowing of sidewalks on bus routes, collector streets and sidewalks on residential streets. Plowing of back lanes also started this morning and will continue from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily until completed. About 200 pieces of equipment will be used for this part of the clean-up operation. Hauling of snow from the downtown area will also begin tonight, and motorists are advised that temporary no parking signs will be placed manually on streets where snow hauling is scheduled to occur.
