Easter weekend operating hours for City of Winnipeg facilities and services

WINNIPEG - April 2, 2012 - All civic offices are closed on Good Friday, April 6 and Easter Monday, April 9, 2012.

Libraries

For all Winnipeg Public Libraries:

Friday, April 6 - closed
Saturday, April 7 - regular operating hours
Sunday, April 8 - closed
Monday, April 9 - all libraries will be closed with the exception of the Millennium Library which will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Online services, including catalogue searches, requests/renewals, databases, and eBooks are available anytime at winnipeg.ca/library/.

Recycling/Garbage Collection Schedule

Changes to Recycling/Garbage Collection for Friday, April 6 and Monday, April 9:

Single-family homes
There will be no recycling or garbage collection on Friday, April 6 and Monday, April 9. Collection will resume on Tuesday, April 10 - Day 4 on the five-day cycle.

Multi-family apartments
Recycling and garbage collection will continue as normally scheduled.

Brady Road Landfill hours of operation

Friday, April 65:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, April 79:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, April 89:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Monday, April 95:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Winnipeg Transit Holiday Service Schedule

Friday, April 6 - Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Sunday, April 8 - New Rapid Transit (RT) service begins operation.

Monday, April 9 - Winnipeg Transit will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

Leisure Centres

All Leisure Centres are closed on Friday, April 6 and Monday, April 9. Regular hours of operation are in effect for Saturday, April 7 and Sunday, April 8.

Swimming Pools

All City of Winnipeg swimming pools will be closed on Friday, April 6, except Pam Am Pool and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex. Pam Am Pool will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Regular hours of operation are in effect for all pools on Saturday, April 7.

Pools will be open on Sunday, April 8 as scheduled but will close at 4:00 p.m.

All pools are closed on Monday, April 9, except the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex which will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Animal Services Agency

The Animal Services Agency will be closed on Friday, April 6 and Monday, April 9.

The Animal Services Agency will be open:

Saturday, April 712 noon to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, April 812 noon to 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, April 108:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Cemeteries

Cemetery grounds at Brookside, St. Vital and Transcona Cemeteries will be open for visitation from dawn to dusk over the Easter weekend including Friday, April 6 and Monday, April 9.

Golf Courses

Harbour View and John Blumberg Golf Courses are currently open and accepting reservations. Kildonan Park and Windsor Park Courses will open on Friday, April 6.
