2017 Festive Season Checkstop Program – Week 5 & Final Totals

Week 5 (Friday, December 22 to Sunday, December 31) results:

- A total of 701 vehicles were stopped.
- 15 road-side breath tests administered resulting in 1 fail and 4 warn (72 hr DL suspension).
- 4 impaired driving-related arrests (Highest BAC was three times the statutory limit)
- 3 other criminal arrests
- 8 traffic tickets.

CHECKSTOP TOTALS
5231 vehicles stopped
106 Roadside breath test conducted resulting in 10 fail & 17 Warns (72 hr DL suspension)
43 Impaired Driving related arrests
12 other arrests
115 Traffic Tickets

Average BAC 160 mg% (twice the statutory limit)
Average age 37 (youngest  21 / oldest 64)
33 males / 10 females
