Firearm & Drug Offences – Arrest: C23-17926

In January 2023, members of the Guns & Gangs Unit began investigating a male suspected of selling and storing fentanyl in the 300 block of Hargrave Street.

The male was arrested on January 24, 2023, and a search warrant was executed at the location. A number of items were seized, including the following:

- 181 grams of fentanyl (with a potential street value of $72,400)
- 944 grams of methamphetamine (with a potential street value of $94,400)
- 33 grams of cocaine (with a potential street value of $3,300)
- Approximately $26,000 in Canadian currency
- Counterfeit money
- A loaded semi-automatic 9mm handgun
- An extra magazine for the 9mm handgun containing ammunition
- A loaded .22 calibre revolver
- Hundreds of rounds of .22 calibre ammunition
- A high-capacity .22 calibre magazine
- A revolver-style CO2 air gun
- Materials used to produce fentanyl

Investigators later executed a search warrant on a vehicle operated by the suspect and located:

- A canister of bear spray
- A machete
- A knife

Cainin Cole Xavier, a 45-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Produce a Scheduled Substance – Fentanyl
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of Counterfeit Money
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations (x2)
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x2)
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition (x2)
- Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime (x2)
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x3)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (x2)
- Possession of a Weapon (x2)
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order

He was detained.
