January is Crime Stoppers Awareness Month. Winnipeg Crime Stoppers is one of the Service’s largest and most critical partnerships.
Crime Stoppers was established in 1984. This year marks 40th Anniversary of the program. The community-based program, operated by a volunteer board of directors comprised of people from the business community, offers cash rewards for information leading to solving an unsolved crime. Awards are also offered for information leading to the arrest of individuals for criminal offences, the recovery of stolen property, or the seizure of narcotics.
Since its inception in 1984, over 123,000 tips via telephone, WebTips and text messages have been received from citizens.

Winnipeg Crime Stoppers is based on the principle that for every crime committed, someone other than the criminal has important information that will lead to a solution.
Crime Stoppers allows citizens to ANONYMOUSLY supply police with information regarding a crime they may have knowingly or unknowingly witnessed or a crime or potential crime of which they may have knowledge.
Callers never have to reveal their identity. If your tip is helpful, you can receive an award of up to $2000 cash!
If you have information on a crime, call Winnipeg Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (204-786-8477).
Thank you Winnipeg Crime Stoppers for helping make Winnipeg a safer community.
