On October 16, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service was alerted to the 100 block of Kane Avenue for a suspicious vehicle occupied by two individuals.
West District General Patrol officers, assisted by Tactical Support Team members and Canine (K9) Unit members, attended and located a parked 2021 Hyundai Tucson previously reported stolen from a local dealership on October 12. Officers quickly arrested an adult female suspect and an adult male suspect without incident.
Officers seized the stolen vehicle’s key fob and 15 rounds of .22 calibre ammunition following the search of the female suspect. A search of the vehicle produced a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle and a sword, which officers also seized as evidence.
