On December 15, 2022, at approximately 10:20 p.m., two off-duty Winnipeg Police Service members came across a collision that had just occurred involving a front-end loader and a cyclist in the area of Mission Street and Plinguet Street.

The adult male cyclist suffered significant injuries, and the off-duty officers began to provide emergency medical care. At the same time, two on-duty Winnipeg Transit employees stopped and assisted by re-routing traffic.

The front-end loader driver remained at the scene of the collision.

On-duty members of the Winnipeg Police Service and Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service arrived soon after, and the male was pronounced deceased.

It is believed that the loader was clearing snow at the time of the collision.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Traffic Division. Anyone with information regarding the matter or that may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-7085.
