Homicide – Arrest: C21-278721

Update:

On January 20, 2022, members of the Homicide Unit arrested Jake Steven DUCHARME, 32, of Winnipeg, on the strength of a warrant for the murder of Tyler YAREMA, who was shot and killed on November 29, 2021.

He was charged with Second Degree Murder and detained in custody.

Bryce Alexander KEATING, 23, remains outstanding with a warrant for Second Degree Murder.

Do not approach KEATING; he may be armed and dangerous.

As previously released:

On November 29, 2021, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Winnipeg Police General Patrol officers responded to a report of gunshots at a single-family residence in the 200 block of Forrester Avenue. Officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. Police administered emergency medical care until EMS arrived and transported the victim to a hospital in critical condition.

The victim has since succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as Tyler Patrick YAREMA, 42, of Winnipeg.

The investigation into this incident is continuing by the Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
