Aggravated Assault – Arrest: C22-11519

Update:

Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit have made an arrest in an assault/home invasion that occurred on January 17, 2022. A 17-year-old male was arrested on January 18 and faces the following charges:
- Aggravated Assault x 2
- Break & Enter to Commit Aggravated Assault x 2
- Break & Enter to Commit Robbery x 2

He was detained in custody.

As previously released:

On January 17, 2022, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a stabbing at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Maryland Street.

Police located two adult males inside the complex, seriously injured and losing blood. Officers performed emergency medical care until paramedics arrived, and both victims in their twenties were transported to hospital in critical condition. They were later upgraded to stable condition.

A scene was located in one of the suites, and the investigation was turned over to the Major Crimes Unit.
