Serious Motor Vehicle Collision – Investigation: C22-07754

Released: January 12, 2022 at 8 a.m.

On January 12, 2022, at approximately 1:30 a.m., General Patrol officers were flagged down for a serious motor vehicle collision involving a lone adult male driver. The vehicle had struck a tree at Main Street and Assiniboine Avenue, rendering the driver unconscious and trapped inside.

WFPS attended the scene and extracted the driver from the vehicle; he was subsequently transported to hospital in critical condition, where he remains. The Winnipeg Police Service’s Traffic Division has taken over the investigation. Road closures have since been re-opened.
