Weapons/Assault Peace Officer – Arrests: C21-277470

Released: November 28, 2021 at 8 a.m.

On November 27, 2021, at approximately 1:40 p.m., a Winnipeg Police Traffic Unit observed a vehicle that had been reported stolen. The lone officer pulled the car over in the 900 block of Winnipeg Avenue.

The officer was speaking to the driver when she observed him reaching for the controls. The driver managed to put the vehicle in gear and start to flee, however, the officer could not disengage from the car door. She was dragged approximately two metres before falling to the roadway. The officer was later treated in hospital and released. Additional police units responded and were able to stop the fleeing vehicle near Arlington Street and Logan Avenue.

The male driver and a female passenger were taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Officers located a sawed-off rifle in the car.

Allan Michael James WOOD, 30, has been charged 38 offences, including:
- Multiple firearms offences
- Assault Peace Officer
- Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
- Multiple breaches of court orders

He was detained in custody.

Alice Beverly CAMERON, 47, was charged with eight separate offences. She was detained in custody.
