On June 28, 2021, the Major Crimes Unit arrested a female for eight robberies that occurred between April 24, 2021, and June 17, 2021, to retail clothing outlets and drugstores within the following areas:
- the 800 block of Leila Avenue
- the 1000 block of Leila Avenue
- the 2300 block of McPhillips Street
- first 100 block of Marion Street
During these incidents, a female suspect threatened staff members with a syringe, and on one occasion, a knife when she was exiting the stores with unpaid merchandise. The total value of the stolen goods was approximately $6,000, and none of the property has been recovered at this time. Nobody was physically injured during these robberies.
Gerry Dawn CHEVILLARD, 42, of Winnipeg, was charged with Robbery x 8 and Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm x 2.
